While most of the people reflect on the year that was, I realized that this is the end of the first decade of the new millennium. I repeat: 10 years! The past 10 years of my went on too fast and too memorable compared to the other 2 that it seems like it was only just yesterday.

I have met people, lost some to the ol’ grim reaper, fought with some, and lost contact with the others. Thank you guys for being a part of my past decade. All of you made me what I am right now. To all of those who belittled my capabilities, I remembered all of you and made you my motivation to strive to where I am now and where I am headed to.

The decade also saw me start my professional career and it was not your ordinary career! I started as a rank and file employee, to a managerial position, to owning and losing a company, to working from home…all in a span of one decade! While others experience this throughout their careers, I experienced this all within this span of time. Not to mention a couple of lawsuits along the way which made me stronger.

I also had the opportunity to serve the community in my own little way without asking for anything in return.

The icing on the cake of this decade was marrying my wife, who has been the source of my strength through all my life’s experiences. While I know I am capable of doing anything humanely possible, it is her who has been on my side through thick and thin and keeps me motivated. 9 years and counting, I hope I still have a lot of tricks on my sleeves to sweep her off her feet through random acts of sweetness

That’s the past 10 years of my life that I can share to everyone.

First off, I would like to thank Digital Hub for assisting me with one of my recent purchase, an AppleCare Protection Plan for my MacBook Pro. Ever since one of my friends from JCI Manila introduced me to Charles, I have always made my purchase there not only because of the discounts I usually get, but also the after sales is one of the best that I have seen. By the way, this is not a paid post but some experience that I would like to share to everyone. Going back to the story, I purchased the plan 3rd week of November and the warranty is about to expire on the 12th of December. I have been going back and forth with to complete this but I have always hit a snag. On came Mike and fixed this for us in a few minutes.

Now after extending my warranty, I was looking at philmug and came across people like me who were looking to upgrade their laptop’s memory. I have been doing this since June but the rate for the upgrade is a bit on the pricey side (8,xxx per stick). People on the forum mentioned the name of Louie from tipidpc and was curious to check him out on that site. Luckily, I was able to find his posts and his contact and messaged him on IM and left my number. Note that this was at 11pm. at 1am, someone called me and surprised that he returned my message. We continued talking about the details of the RAM he is selling and I could not believe that he is selling these sticks for 6,000 (2 sticks of 4G each). Since this is too good to pass up, We agreed that he will be going to my place to install the sticks I bought from him and put the original one on my wife’s laptop. He came to our place at noon and promptly installed the RAM I bought and everything was complete in 30 minutes, including the installation of my original RAM over to my wife’s computer.

I also purchased a Ricky Rubio jersey from MySobra Jersey and they also delivered as promised. for 600 pesos (500 + 100 shipping), the item was delivered as promised. I few conversations over the phone together with some text messages, the guy who runs this business really means business. Now these are the people I like to deal with.

For the Good service part of the post, I would like to give my big thanks to Digital Hub, Louie from Tipid PC and MySobra Jersey.

For the Bad Service part of the post, maybe some of those who follow me on twitter see that I have been ranting about my SkyBroadband connection. Normally I understand that there will be downtimes, service interruptions and anything that would stop these providers from giving their normal service but what happened on November and December is unacceptable, especially when your main source of income is the internet. Another thing, I don’t claim to be a God when it comes to internet and networking but I do know how to troubleshoot and determine if the problem is on my home network or the problem is the Internet Service Provider. If I were to check on the uptime of the connection, I think we only had a connection for 7 days this month . I can’t stress to them enough that I’m not just “another facebook user”.

That being said, I was a bit on the lucky side as there were sales people from Globe giving out flyers and immediately signed up for a DSL service. They got it installed last Friday and has some browsing issues and a few minutes of downtime earlier. Not going to rant about them for now as I have been getting decent speeds and was able to work without any major interruptions.

Ten long years….that’s how long they have been together but why they are hanging on to each other is still a mystery. In a perfect world, a guy and a girl stay together because of love but that has not been always the case in the real world. There’s always a thin line between love and like and sometimes, need is in the middle of them. More often than not, we only say what our partners want to hear even if it’s not what we feel without thinking that this will hurt in the long run not only for your partner, but yourself as well.

But of course it’s not polite
To ask you where you spent last night
And if I did, you might reply that I have no right
And anyway I’m fine

Ten Years after….the inevitable happened. The hard part of a break up is when one has to hold back the feelings in order to prove a point that it is finally over. One party made a mistake, another got hurt to the point that one has to give everything up: the love, the care, and the memories that were shared. One mistake the proved too costly to solicit forgiveness. Yes, if God forgives why can’t we? If you want me to answer that question, that is because we are Human, and we have worldly emotions….and selfish one at that: It’s human nature! But through all the pain that were felt, it could have been gone by one kiss, one hug, or a night to be shared together. But would one forgive knowing that this will be cycle all over again? It would be better to put up a brave front showing that everything is fine although it is obvious that the situation hurts and it is best for both parties to go on a different direction.

Post Breakup: Waking up alone would take a lot of time getting used to, but as the old saying goes “every journey begins with a single step”. Picking up the pieces after is hard, especially when flattery is all over the place once more…..those care, those emotions and those memories being revived in order to bring everything back to once it used to be, but one must hold on, as what doesn’t break anyone makes on stronger. Through all the walls that were put up to hide the feelings, one must remember that these are all being done, not to hurt someone further, but to put order to both parties’ lives by putting a proper closure.

As I always say, there will never ever be a good break up, but always have one anyway.

But not before a lot of anxiety leading to the day, as I have constantly asked sales rep of Globe Telecommunications to grant me 2 lines in order to make the switch. I personally wanted to switch because:

- I need push mail in my line of work, the plan I got has this
- With a data plan, I can tether my phone with my computer to stand as a backup connection in case something goes wrong
- I chose a 40 minute free international call for work purposes
- an unlimited call and text option to one number (for my wife obviously)
- who wouldn’t want an iphone 4?

I haven’t received an email stub until Friday, during the time that I am resigned to the fact that my application is denied after around 6 phone calls from different sales rep asking me for information and documents. While we are happy that we got the email stub, the email indicates that it is for 1 unit only. I know my wife wanted it so bad and she kept telling me that I can’t bear to see her not getting the phone first. Oh well, that’s what husbands to to make their wives happy.

Anyway, saturday came and i got around 3 sets of messages informing me of the date, place and requirements to get the phone. The funny thing is, I got two schedules: 1 on the 26th from 12 to 1pm and another one on the same date from 7pm to 8pm. While I only have one email confirmation, I got 2 schedules meaning I was allowed to get more than 1 line. I am not optimistic about it, but who knows maybe we can pull it through.

Sunday came and the first miracle of the day was that my wife woke up EARLY (hahaha). And while I was at work during the afternoon, she kept in touch and was so happy that we were granted 2 lines and 2 units. I can imagine “the grin” from my wife’s face as she got the units afterwards.

By my estimate it took her some 3 hours, with lunch break included, to get the phones. Not bad for a big even such as this.

As for the gadget review, check back for future posts as I have only checked out the camera only, which has flash by the way. The pictures used above were taken using an iphone4.

I started Monday and Tuesday. I was supposed to go today but wasn’t able to do so because of some extra work that is needed to be done. The workout consist of some cardio exercise and a lot of upper and lower body development. I have been going in and out of the gym before but this is the first time that i have literally dropped my tongue off exhaustion.

So this is what I plan to do: work out from monday to friday, cut down carbo during those days and then normal food intake from Friday, until Sunday. Friday will be my food day where me, my wife, and our Friday buddies Mon and Angelo goes out to try anything during that day.

Food and Losing weight? not sure if this is a good combination but let’s see

Anyway, it was my wife who is more excited than me as I see that “look” on here face, just like last February when she was choosing between two laptop covers, and the laptop that came with it.  I just hope the requirements that we sent are sufficient enough to give us 2 units, or even 1.  If you’re asking me how excited she was, she wanted to fax the requirements at 2 in the morning!

I have sent the requirements first thing after breakfast.  I just hope everything will go smoothly with the application.

I don’t plan to take any medicine for now.  It’s going to be me and my new found self-discipline for the meantime.  If I fail then the whole world will know heh!

I will be making a chronicle of this experience and if I have the courage, i’ll post pics.
